The macro-size of these pellets makes them ideal for soaking into a mash. To soften them slightly, just soak in water for 30 minutes. To create a mash, simply cover with water and leave to soak until soft. If using hot water, test the temperature before feeding to prevent harm. You can feed them dry, add to a mash, combine with hard feed, or dampen to hydrate—the choice is yours.
